Plagiarism Prevention Policy

Plagiarism Policy

The journal Scientific Papers of Vinnytsia National Technical University accepts for consideration only original scientific materials that have not been previously published and are not under review in other publications.

To detect textual overlap, the editorial office uses specialized software StrikePlagiarism. This check is mandatory for all manuscripts submitted to the journal.

The Editorial Board considers plagiarism a serious violation of academic integrity and professional ethics in the relationships between authors, reviewers, editors, publishers, and readers. Such actions contradict the principles outlined in the section “Publication Ethics.”

Assessment of Originality Level

All submitted manuscripts undergo a text originality check. The following criteria are applied during the analysis:

  • more than 80% originality – the manuscript is accepted for further editorial consideration;
  • 70% to 80% originality – the author is advised to verify the correctness of citations and bibliographic references;
  • less than 70% originality – the manuscript is rejected without further consideration.

In addition, the amount of text overlap from a single source must not exceed 3%.

Verification Procedure

The percentage of textual overlap is determined using specialized software that checks documents against:

  • local databases;
  • open Internet sources;
  • international scientific publication databases.

The generated similarity report is analyzed by the editorial board before the manuscript is sent for peer review.

Detection of Plagiarism After Publication

If plagiarism or significant textual overlap is identified after publication, the editorial office conducts an additional investigation and contacts the author to clarify the circumstances.

If a violation of academic integrity is confirmed, the editorial board may decide to retract the article in accordance with the journal’s policy on publication retraction.
